Attendees will participate in interactive discussions and gain practical, actionable strategies that they can apply directly to their own initiatives.

City of Merri-bek Speakers
Unit Manager Community Engagement
Anna is a community engagement practitioner with 15 years of experience in local government. She is passionate about giving a voice to those who might not often speak up or know how to engage with council. Her mantra for all things engagement is “Trust the process!”
Digital Experience Specialist
Claire works as a Digital Experience Specialist at Merri-bek, managing several council websites. Her user experience training taught her to think about how to make information easy to find and understand online. Claire is always looking for better ways to present information so that it is useful to everyone.
Digital Engagement Partner
Jess has over 15 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, and media across a range of sectors, and have been working in the community engagement space for the last five years. Jess's work is informed by their lived experience as a queer and disabled person, and they are passionate about the enhanced outcomes that result from meaningful and accessible engagement.

Head of Practice
Andrew is an experienced community engagement specialist with 18 years of frontline experience in the UK and Australia, and nearly five years of experience in digital community engagement. He has held senior roles in consultation, collaboration, and communication across local and state government, housing, water, and charitable sectors. Andrew is also the instigator of the annual Global Community Engagement Day, which originated during his time with Engage 2 Act. In his current role as Head of Practice and Strategic Relationships, he works with both current and prospective customers using Social Pinpoint and Consultation Manager.
Community Engagement Specialist
Leanne is a highly experienced and results-driven Community Engagement Consultant with a proven track record of delivering successful engagement initiatives for a diverse range of clients. With over 25 years of experience as a senior practitioner across government and private sectors, she combines strategic thinking with a passion for community empowerment to build meaningful connections between organizations and their stakeholders. Leanne’s expertise spans traditional, contemporary, and digital engagement methodologies, allowing her to apply a wide range of tools and techniques to reach diverse audiences. She also provides coaching, mentoring, training, and support to clients, helping them achieve effective and inclusive community engagement outcomes.
